Maximus Baker was born in San Diego, California, grew up in Camarillo, California, surrounded by music and athletics, cultivating a love for both early on. He graduated from Newbury Park High School in 2020, where he was known as a standout athlete on the golf team.
Maximus's life was marked by a deep dedication to competitive junior golf. Throughout high school, he competed in prestigious circuits including the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) and the Southern California PGA (SCPGA). His achievements include being named the 2019 Marmonte League Champion and MVP, as well as earning First Team All-County honors. His discipline and competitive edge on the golf course would later carry over into his musical pursuits.
Growing up listening to classic rock and metal music, Maximus took an interest in wanting to play guitar at the age of 7. The guitarists that inspired him the most is Randy Rhoads, Vivian Campbell, Phil Collen, Jake E. Lee, Zakk Wylde, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Jimmy Page, Eddie Van Halen, and Mick Mars.
After relocating with his family to Aiken, South Carolina, Maximus shifted his focus to music. He expanded his skills beyond just playing guitar, delving into the world of music production, recording, and mixing. As a self-taught producer, Maximus learned to record and engineer his own music from home, his inspirations for production are Michael Wagener, Keith Olsen, and Michael Nielsen. Not only he learned to record, he learned the skills of being a guitar tech and luthier. Almost all of his main guitars have been re-fretted and set-up himself.
The goal was to form a traditional rock band, but finding musicians who can play well enough in the right genre and be around the same age was near an impossible task. Instead of searching and hoping for the right people, the situation changed to an instrumental rock band. Without having the need for a singer, more musical opportunity and options appeared.
